This site includes articles from current and past issues of Acupuncture Today, listings of Chinese herbs (by common name) with information about dosage, indications, and precautions, information on vitamins, minerals, and supplements, articles on using acupuncture to treat specific conditions, and many links to other informative websites. It also includes an acupuncturist locator searchable by name or city and general information on acupuncture.
 
Classical Chinese Medicine
The Classical Chinese Medicine website reflects the voices of an international movement seeking to honor and restore the classical origins of Chinese medicine. This site features articles, lectures, and practical demonstrations by Heiner Fruehauf, Ph.D., L.Ac, and a group of like-minded scholars in China.   The Associates Forum has been configured to feature video presentations and written material of the Classical Chinese Medicine teachings by Profs. Wang Qingyu, Liu Lihong, and Heiner Fruehauf.  The Associates Forum is available to OCOM students, faculty and staff.  Please see the library staff for user logon and password.

The Institute for Traditional Medicine (ITM) has included many recent articles from their publications about Chinese medicine and herbal treatments on this site. Articles are also available about the history of Chinese medicine, general information about acupuncture and herbal therapies, and lots of articles on herb safety, interactions, and therapeutic uses.

National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)
Provides information on examination and certification by NCCAOM, a non-profit organization established in 1982, whose mission is to promote nationally recognized standards of competency and safety in acupuncture, Chinese herbology and Oriental bodywork therapy for the purpose of protecting the public. Allows you to search for a certified practitioner and download their newsletter for diplomates.

Oregon Acupuncture Association
This is the website for the Oregon Acupuncture Association, a professional organization for acupuncturists in Oregon State. It provides a list of members with their contact information searchable by name or zip code, general information on acupuncture, the latest updates on legal issues and current topics in the acupuncture field, information on seminars and presentations for acupuncturists, and access to the OAA newletter.

The Merck Manual

The complete Merck Manual is available on-line at this site. It is searchable by keyword of table of contents and gives the most recently updated information available (even newer than the last published book).

Offered by National Library of Medicine, this site includes numerous databases covering toxicology, hazardous chemicals, environmental health and related areas.

This site was created to assist medical students in the study of pathology. It has many images and text, tutorials, lab exercises, and examinations for self-assessment.

Dietary Supplements Database  
The Dietary Supplements Labels Database offers information about ingredients in more than two thousand selected brands of dietary supplements. It enables users to determine what ingredients are in specific brands and to compare ingredients in different brands. Information is also provided on the health benefits claimed by manufacturers  The Dietary Supplements Labels Database is free from the National Library of Medicine.
