Borrowing Privileges
OCOM students, faculty and staff have full borrowing priviledges of library materials. We extend borrowing privileges to OCOM alumni, licensed acupuncturists in the Portland area who are not alumni, and also to NCNM, WSCC and OHSU students. Please contact the library for more information about applying for a library card.
Reciprocal Borrowing Agreements
Our library has reciprocal borrowing agreements with the libraries of National College of Natural Medicine, Oregon Health & Science University and Western States Chiropractic College. A current OCOM student ID is required to check out materials from these libraries.

Multnomah County Library offers abundant information resources including a collection of full-text databases. With a Multnomah County Library card, you may access these databases from any computer having the Internet connection as well as check out materials from any of its branch libraries.

AV Tapes, DVDs & CDs: One Week
Class Reserve Materials: Overnight, until 1:00 PM the following day
Renewals
Except for class reserve materials and items that have a waiting list, borrowed items can be renewed twice (unlimited times during summer) either in person or by calling 503-253-3443 x121 if no one has placed a hold on the item being renewed.

Placing a Hold
Borrowers may place a hold on checked out materials either by phone, or with a staff person at the Circulation/Information Desk. The requestor will be contacted by phone or email once the item becomes available. The item will be held for the requestor for a week.
Late Fees
Late fees will be assessed for items overdue at the following rates:
Books, Tapes, DVDs and CDs: $0.20 per day
Class Reserve Materials: $0.50 per hour

Late fees do not accrue during school breaks and library closing days. Students must pay all library fees prior to registering for next term's classes. Materials six weeks overdue (two weeks in the case of class reserve materials) will be treated as lost materials. A billing fee of $5 will be assessed in addition to the lost material charge.
Lost and Damaged Materials
The lost/damaged material charge including replacement cost of the item and a $5 processing fee will be assessed to the lost or damaged item.
