The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) seeks a Director of Research with a strong clinical research background to oversee an established program of NIH-funded research in acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM). The Director of Research is responsible for managing and expanding the program of study in collaboration with conventional medical institutions both locally and nationally.

Essential Functions will include:
- Fostering and overseeing all aspects of clinical research at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.
- Application for federal and private research grants.
- Management of research teams.
- Developing publications.
- Classroom instruction in Oriental medicine research courses for OCOM’s masters and doctoral programs.
- The Director will also work closely with OCOM’s President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Board of Trustees to integrate the research program into OCOM’s clinical and educational programs.
Education
- A PhD, MD, ScD, DAOM, or equivalent degree is required.
- Applicants must demonstrate a track record of service as a Principal Investigator.
- A strong peer-reviewed publication record is essential.
- Clinical or research experience with complementary and alternative medicine is not a requirement, but a strong interest in the field is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and experience in teaching are required.
