Doctoral Admissions
We are currently accepting applications for 2008.
Prior Training
Our doctoral program is a challenging postgraduate degree, and we seek applicants of the highest quality. All individuals seeking admission must be able to document at least a master's level training in acupuncture and Oriental medicine (or its equivalent) to be eligible for consideration for the doctoral program. Formal training in herbal medicine is also essential. Original transcripts are required in all cases.
For most potential US-based applicants trained within the last 15 years, this basic admissions requirement means that applicants must possess a master's degree (or diploma) in Oriental medicine, usually from a school or college accredited by ACAOM. Typically, academic transcripts will include a minimum of at least 2,800 hours of formal training in acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbal medicine.
Clinical Practice
Applicants to the DAOM program must be licensed practitioners in a US state or Canadian province. Applicants must also maintain an active practice while completing the program. Generally, an "active practice" is understood to mean treating a minimum of 10 patients per week with acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine.

Application Process
The first step in applying to the doctoral program is completing and submitting your online application. Application materials are reviewed and processed as they are received. An applicant does not need to wait until the application deadline to apply or receive an admissions decision. Each applicant will be contacted approximately 1 - 2 weeks after all application materials have been received to set up an on-campus or phone interview. A decision is made by the next business day, and an official letter is sent in the mail.
OCOM Trustee Scholarship - application deadline is May 30, 2008 at 5:00 PM
