Master's Program
Our master's degree program in traditional Oriental medicine is designed to train highly competent health care practitioners and to provide the foundation for ongoing study and development in the field. Students receive comprehensive instruction and practical experience in acupuncture, herbal medicine, Oriental therapeutic massage and qi cultivation. As part of the program, students also study Western medical approaches and related areas of public and community health, research, practice management, and practitioner/patient dynamics.
All master’s students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with patients in our community clinics. Adjunctive coursework is provided in biomedicine and relevant areas of public and community health, research, practice management, and practitioner/patient dynamics.
Our master's degree program was first accredited in 1989 by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). The program has been successfully reaccredited three times since then in 1994, 1999 and 2004.
